As the founder and owner of Northern Roots Counseling, Janna Harvey is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPCS) and Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C). A lifelong Alaskan, she received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage and her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Alaska Pacific University. For the past 15 years, Janna has worked within the Providence healthcare system, supporting adolescents, families, and adults through seasons of transition and distress. She specializes in working with adolescents, families, and individuals experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, as well as anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. Janna offers a warm, grounded, and collaborative presence. She integrates EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients process trauma, build practical coping skills, and reconnect with a deeper sense of meaning and wisdom.

Brittany Klabunde is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from The University of North Texas and her Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Arlington. Since 2013, Brittany has worked in hospitals, shelters, churches, schools, and crisis centers to provide individuals and families with compassionate, trauma-informed care. In each setting, she was an advocate for best practice as it relates to trauma recovery. She specializes in helping clients who have been affected by domestic violence, sexual abuse, parent/child relationships, mood disorders, codependency, anxiety, depression, grief, women’s issues, and life transitions. Brittany believes in the redemption of our most painful life experiences and is committed to journeying with clients as they do the courageous work of confronting the adverse effects of trauma.

We accept most major insurance payers and provide direct billing for your convenience. Please note that Northern Roots Counseling does not accept Medicaid at this time. Please email with specific questions.
